Toronto Maple Leafs middle Auston Matthews received the 2022 Hart Memorial Trophy, which acknowledges the NHL’s most dear participant.
Matthews, 24, completed the 2021-22 season with 60 objectives, essentially the most for any NHL participant in a single season in a decade. He obtained 119 first-place votes on the 195 ballots to win the Hart Trophy. The Edmonton Oilers’ Connor McDavid — who received the award final season — completed second with 29 first-place votes and New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin completed third with 24 first-place votes.
