The Houston Texans will reduce longtime move rusher Whitney Mercilus, a supply confirmed to The Athletic on Monday. The information was first reported by Houston SportsTalk 790.
Mercilus was a first-round decide of the Texans in 2012 and performed the previous 10 seasons with the franchise, amassing 57 sacks throughout that stretch. He has three sacks by way of six video games in 2021. The Texans are presently 1-5 after a 31-3 loss to the Colts Sunday.
Houston can be planning to release return specialist Andre Roberts, in accordance with a number of studies. Roberts, a three-time Pro Bowler, was in his first season with the Texans. He has averaged 4.1 yards per punt return and 21.4 yards per kick return in six video games this season.
